The Florida Gators are on their bye week as they continue to lick their wounds form the pounding they took against Alabama, One thing that seems a constant with this program is the job security of one Will Muschamp. Another chapter was just added to that long running soap opera.

Though some of the Gator fan base wants Muschamp out now and get  a new hire in during this on going season, that is all but a dream as Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley made it clear no staff changes of any kind will be occurring before season's end (Via Mike Bianchi, Orlando Sentinel):

"You never judge or evaluate a program based on one game or one season," Foley said. "That's just not how we do things here. We're going to evaluate where we're headed -- where the players are, how is recruiting going, what type of staff we have -- are we a better [program]? That's going to be plain for all of us to see, but it's also going to be played out over the course of 11 games and we'll see where we are when we get to the end of the season."

Florida is a proud program with a great tradition and championship pedigree. That same form has not been continued under Muschamp unfortunately outside of his debut season.  The Gators looked light years away from even being in the same neighborhood as Alabama in terms of being an elite, national title contending team.

They were easily pushed around and got absolutely destroyed on by the Crimson Tide defense. This was a game to showcase the Gators marked improvement back on the road to being SEC Championship contenders. Instead they looked like a middling, average to sub par SEC team.

The Gators still have plenty of big games left with the likes of LSU, Missouri and Florida State, to prove how far they have come along from that injury riddled season of last year. A few wins in those games could change perception of the program and certainly to Foley when it comes time to evaluate the program from top to bottom.

The flip side of course is is Florida continues to show their inability to win these big games and slump to another 5 or 6 win season, it could be a dire situation for Muschamp and his staff.
