This reduction to 10 games will come on the heels of the new drug testing policy that must be approved by the NFLPA. Since week one of the NFL season is already in the books, Gordon will be eligible to rejoin the team in nine weeks.
He will need to get back in game shape and get a feel of the new offensive scheme but no question this will be a big addition for the Browns overall. He will be a big plus for the development of Manziel as he continues to learn the offense and how to be a NFL quarterback.
Gordon's original suspension was for the entre length of the season, stemming from a failed drug test while he was already part of the NFL's drug program. Gordon was reported to be a car salesmen during his year away from football and still might do that, but now he can see the light at the end of the tunnel a little closer than he could when he woke up today.
According to Gordon himself, his latest drug test for marijuana use would not have been a positive test at all under this newly proposed drug test policy.
The Browns young wide receiver is coming off a phenomenal season where he piled up 1,646 yards and had nine touchdowns. He can now start to focus on his comeback and what he can do to carry the momentum from last season.
