In the video, Rice is seen with Palmer entering an elevator late at night, then an argument ensues and Rice then punches Palmer in the face, causing her to hit her head against the wall and then collapsing on the floor, knocking her out cold. Many people including media members, fans, former players were outraged when the NFL announced that Rice would only be suspended two games for his actions that night in Atlantic City.

This new video released by TMZ was not seen by the Ravers nor the NFL. Once both saw this video, new action was taken in a quick manner. The NFL had this official release:

"Based on new video evidence that became available today (Goodell) has indefinitely suspended Ray Rice."

The Ravens also issued their own strong response by getting rid of Rice altogether, clearing away a distraction that would have weighed down the team and its focus all season long had they continued to have him on the roster. According to rice's former agent Joel Corry: Baltimore saves $3.5 million of cap room for this season by releasing the former Rutgers star RB.

This was the swift justice that everyone that was looking for initially when news of this incident broke last February. It is sad that it took an uproar from the media and fans to get the NFL and the Ravens to finally take significant action and punish Rice and make a strong statement to him and anyone else in the league who commits actions  like this in the future.
