Are You Not Entertained? Viewership Down for 2013 NBA Finals

NBA Finals viewers down 12%
by Rodney Fisher

If Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals are any indication for the rest of the series, the ABC is due for a loss. According to the Associated Press, viewership for Game 1 is down 12% from the previous year's match-up between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Thursday's game drew 14.2 million people in comparison to 16.2 million viewers in 2012. In 2011, Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat NBA Finals, viewership was 15.2 million.

This is the Miami Heat's third straight appearance in the NBA Finals and the San Antonio Spurs are a small market team. Are you watching this series?

  1. It must be because of the false lack of appeal of the Spurs smh, people are going to miss out on a good series if this keeps up
