NFL Draft Player Profile: Chaz Sutton of South Carolina

(Sutton #90) Photo credit to independentmail.com
Chaz Sutton wreaks havoc from all points on the defensive front. Sutton has lined up, and dominated, from the 1-Tech through 5-tech positions as well as Outside Line Backer. Being able to disrupt the offensive line from all different angles and positions adds a phenomenal amount of versatility to his skill-set. A player of his versatility would fit well into a Hybrid Multiple-Front defense such as the Ravens. He would play similarly to Haloti Ngata as he is moved around between the 3-tech, 5-tech, and sometimes even the 1-tech.

This isn't even including Matt Harvey, who only just missed out on being classified as a rookie.

FXP - Denver Broncos: The Peyton Manning Effect

Is Peyton Manning all you need?
Two years ago, Denver had its season end in a 45-10 beat down at Foxboro, Massachusetts and Denver entered the offseason with the much-maligned Tim Tebow as their starting quarterback.  However, after a very intense courting period, Denver’s Executive VP of Football Operations, John Elway, announced that Denver would be bringing in free agent Peyton Manning, signaling in a new era in Denver.  Manning rewarded Elway, and the fans, with one of his best seasons ever, passing for over 4600 yards and 37 touchdowns, leading the Broncos to the playoffs where they lost to Baltimore.  Though last season did not end as planned, the Broncos, and their fans, have plenty reason for optimism this season.

Nazr Mohammed ejected after pushing Lebron James, Game 3
We can all agree it was a technical foul. This morning in most barbershops across the United States the debate heats up on whether LeBron James flopped in order to get the refs to eject Nazr Mohammed.

Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeaux added fuel to the flame in his postgame comments saying, "from my angle, I just say a guy basically flop, you know, and I'm going to leave it at that."

ESPN's Chris Broussard Issues Statement Via Twitter

Chris Broussard got himself in hot water today on ESPN's Outside The Lines program. The topic was Jason Collins coming out publicly that he is gay.

Chris, a devoted Christian, stated his personal views based on his faith.

Due to public pressure for his comments he issued the following statement via Twitter:
"Today on OTL, as part of a larger, wide-ranging discussion on today's news, I offered my personal opinion as it relates to Christianity, a point of view that I have expressed publicly before. I realize that some people disagree with my opinion and I accept and respect that. As has been the case in the past, my beliefs have not and will not impact my ability to report on the NBA. I believe Jason Collins displayed bravery with his announcement today and I have no objection to him or anyone else playing in the NBA."

Boxing: Canelo Tops Trout in Texas to Unify Super Welterweight Belts

When a raucous crowd of 40,000 people are doing the wave all the way around the stadium 2 hours before a championship fight like they did this weekend at the Alamodome in San Antonio, you officially have an electric atmosphere, which was exactly the case when Saul “Canelo” Alvarez took on Austin “No Doubt” Trout.
With a star studded crowd that included everyone from Super Bowl Champ Ray Lewis, IBF Light middleweight champion Ishe Smith, and the Golden Boy himself Oscar De La Hoya, the electricity in the air could be felt from San Antonio to Dallas. Combine this with the show-stopping performance by Texas native Omar Figueroa, whose first round knockout on the front end of the main event, had the crowd in a frenzy and the stage set for major fireworks.
The pro Canelo crowd was 95 percent fully behind the Mexican born Alvarez. While there were a few but not many T-shirts in the crowd, which read something different: "Team Trout."
"We really do have a team and everybody is a part of this," said Trout, wiping the sweat from his face after a tough fight. "It takes everybody to get me ready."

Mike Brown Back In Cleveland? Are You Sure About That?

Mike Brown gets a 2nd chance with Cleveland. Photo Credit Sports Illustrated

Mike Brown has an impressive win percentage of .653 in his seven year head coaching career in the NBA. His 314-167 record is due to his 5 years coaching the Cleveland Cavaliers, more importantly, coaching LeBron James. He is a familiar face for Cavs fans and is good with Dan Gilbert, so I can see why bring him back, but the circumstances around his release from the Cavs and Lakers should raise concern for Cavs Fans.

Dirk Nowitzki Becomes Elite Has Mavericks Finally get to .500

One-on-One with Dallas Mavericks Point Guard Mike James

Mike James is a frequent traveler of tough roads. Before making it to the NBA in 2001 with the Miami Heat, James had thee years under his belt as a professional basketball player overseas and a few games with the Rockford Lightning of the CBA.

Once James made it the NBA, he has played for nine different franchises in eight seasons. He had his best season in 2005-06 with the Toronto Raptors when he averaged 20.3 points per game. 2013 finds James at the end of another unexpected NBA season with another franchise. He started this year at home with his wife and four daughters wanting for a call from someone. Dallas was that team.

Kobe Bryant Done; Injures Achilles Tendon

The Los Angeles Lakers playoff chances to a major hit last night with Kobe Bryant going down grasping his ankle with 3:08 left to play.

The Lakers went on to win the game over the Golden State Warriors 118-116, but suffered their biggest loss of the season.
Kobe has been logging 46 minutes per night in the month of April. This had already led to placing the blame on head coach Mike D’Antoni, but injuries like this just happen.
Achilles injuries have ended the careers of Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal in recent history, but Bryant has always been a fast healer. Not fast enough to help the Lakers secure the playoff spot or even win a game if they do make the playoffs.
Kobe Bryant: “I was just hoping it wasn’t what I knew it was…I heard the pop.”
Kobe’s plan now: “MRI, surgery, and then recovery. It’s a new experience for me. Obviously, there’s been a bunch of players that have had the same injury, so, all I can do is look at them and what they’ve done and who had more success coming back quicker and healthier and see what they did and see if I can improve upon it.”
Kobe has been vocal this season about ending his career in 2014. This seems to make more sense now.

Dallas Mavericks eliminated from all playoff hopes with loss to Phoenix Suns

The Dallas Mavericks dealt themselves the playoff death blow losing to the bottom feeder of the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns. With all due respect, the Suns would been better off losing the rest of their games to get more balls in the lottery. Combine the fact that their on the second game of a back-to-back and carrying a 10 game losing streak and anyone that ever watched a basketball game would pick the Dallas Mavericks to win.
