Tim Tebow is a Legitimate NFL MVP Candidate; Second only to Rodgers
We have to remember this award is an individual award. A true candidate has to be the Most Valuable Player on the team. We know what the Broncos without Tim Tebow are....1 - 4. Look at the situation in Indianapolis with the winless Colts. Lose Peyton Manning and you lose the entire season. All the years that Peyton had success with the Colts could now be looked at as MVP seasons. Aaron Rodgers deserve the same mention with an undefeated Packers team. Tom Brady deserves it also for overcoming a terrible defense to be top in the AFC, for now. Tebow has 11 TDs to 2 INTs. He has made the rushing attack of the Broncos #1 in the league. He has totally changed the psychology of the entire franchise against every obstacle. This Sunday the Broncos have a chance to beat the Patriots. If they lose this game nobody will bat an eye, because after all Tebow's luck has to run out some time. But if he wins in his trademark fashion, he should be second in the running behind Rogers.
Dear Jerry Jones, Blow it up!
Last night was the last time this Cowboy fan gets kicked in the family jewels. Sure we could look at the numbers and know what happened in the game, but we need to focus on what we see with our own eyes. You can't find one team in the world that has enough luck to lose a game the same way as many times as the 2011-2012 Cowboys. Jerry, you have put your team in the hands of the best offensive and defensive coordinators at the available time for what? Can you honestly say you have confidence in Jason Garrett, the Princeton offensive guru, and Rob Ryan, the next NFL head coach? Can you have confidence in a QB that throws 4 TDs, but can't hit a wide open Miles Austin to win the game? What about a defense that can't line up before the opposing offense snaps the ball?
There is but one solution Mr. Jones, Blow it up! New personnel, new coaches, and a new GM. That's right Jerry...You're Fired! Stick to what you do best and market Americas team. Leave the football to football people like Jimmy and Parcells. You want to WIN don't you! Division opponents, like the Giants, have a better record in your stadium that your own team. I'm frustrated, I'm sick, I'm tired, and I'm out on this season....
Sincerely,
Cowboy Fan For Life

Mavs Open Short Training Camp a Much Different Team
Arriving at the Mavs first official practice today one could easily assume that this team never won a title. A small group of media people that were all locally based, no ESPN talking heads, and only 10 basketball players made what should be a huge moment for a franchise with it's first Championship seem normal. Other than Shawn Marion's choice of hair color, the most eye catching issue were the players in attendance. Or the lack of players in attendance. During Coach Carlisle's q and a we learned that Brandon Hayward would be the starting center for the reigning champs. Sounds good on the surface until you realize that Tyson Chandler, the best center in Mavs history, is not on this team. He joins the NY Knicks frontcourt that Jason Kidd pointed out is the same the frontcourt that qualified the USA for the Olympics. Ian Mahinmi will be Hayward's back up for now. J.J. Barea, Deshawn Stevenson, Brian Cardinal, Caron Butler and Peja were all missing as well. So much for the deepest team in terms of talent in the league. Now a team that many thought was one of the oldest in the NBA will have to rely on their youngest players to repeat. A soon as practice was over, the only players that stayed behind for position work were Dominique Jones, Robrique Beaubois, Ian Mahinmi, Cory Brewer, and newest Mav Brandan Wright. Wright worked specifically with Coach Carlisle. The veterans had all the right answers to the missing teammate questions. After all, if you have been in the league for more than 5 years your pretty much numb to trades and free agency moves. The young Mavs know that the weight is on their shoulders. The biggest question is who will start at the 2 position. Carlisle made it clear that Terry will continue to be the 6th man. Most believe that Dominque Jones or Roddy Beaubois will split that time once occupied by Deshawn Stevenson. Talking with Jason Kidd, heading into his 18th season, he thinks that by definition of the position that Jones is more of a 1 and Roddy a 2. Mark Cuban has several moves to make to fill out this roster and only 16 days until tip-off at home against their only true rival, the Miami Heat.
Angels sign Pujols and Wilson; Rangers are still AL West favroite

C. J. Wilson has helped the Rangers control the AL West the last two seasons. His record against AL West teams is 21-8. Albert is agurably the best player in baseball. The Angels are still an old team. Sure the rotation of Weaver, Heron, and Wilson makes them better, but look at the Phillies. They have the best rotation in MLB and did not get it done last year. The Rangers still have the true core of their success with Hamilton, Cruz, Andrus, Kinsler, Napoli, Feliz, Ogando, and you can even add Beltre to the list. Jon Daniels has to sign some key players over the next two years as their free agency approaches. You can lose C. J., but you can't lose Hamilton or the chance to make a mid-season move similar to the last two seasons that have really been the key to back-to-back AL West Championships. The AL West Pennant still goes through Arlington.Would Phil Jackson come back to coach Lakers with Howard, Paul and Bryant?
Phil Jackson has accomplished enough to retire forever from the game of basketball. But, doesn't the idea of having Dwight Howard and Chris Paul change his mind? Phil has had the luxury of coaching the best players in the NBA during their peak. From Michael and Scottie, to Kobe and Shaq, and even Kobe and Gasol have all been champions with Phil. You have to imagine that the idea of another pairing of Chris Paul and Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant could arguably be the most talented team Phil could coach. If you are the Lakers organization then you have to be on board with Jackson returning. Gutting the team for Paul and Howard is an all in move. If your going all in then go with a proven coach, not Mike Brown. Phil could only coach the home games and the playoffs if health is an issue. Phil ultimately will have the final decision. If he wants to come back nothing could really stop him. Is Dr. Buss really going to tell Phil Jackson and Laker Nation that Mike Brown is better?

Urban Meyer is taking the coveted Ohio State head coach job. The Ohio native returns to coach a football history just as big or bigger than his past employer the University of Florida. Meyer won his first BCS Championship against the Buckeyes; now he will have to lead them to one.You have to wonder how GatorNation feels today. The guy that lead your team to 2 titles in 3 years is back in college football. The guy responsible for Percy Harvin, Tim Tebow, and even Cam Newton before transferring is coaching. College football coaches have the luxury of knowing just how good their team will be for next 3 seasons based the recruitment class. What is more stressful? Knowing your transferred recruit is going to lead your conference foe to a Championship or knowing that without a Tim Tebow heir quarterback your chances are slim to win it all.
Meyer decided to leave Florida for medical reasons and to spend more time with the family. Instead of attending all the family functions, he decided to roll with ESPN and their hectic schedule across country. This is a great move for "The" Ohio State. They a proven winner to replace the iconic Jim Tressel, but at the expense of the Gator hopeful.
Why NBA fans lost with new deal
Basketball fans are pleased overall with the return of the NBA, but not all NBA fans. Since 1980 there has been only 9 franchises that have won NBA championships. That's 9 different franchises in 30+ years! Part of the hard line stance the owners maintained was an honest effort to create a true competitive balance across the league. Was this accomplished? No. Sure they may increase the level of spending a franchise must commit to and increase the luxury tax for those that over-indulge, but nothing that prevents the "rich to get richer". Nothing was done that would prevent Dwight Howard from leaving Orlando to join Kobe in LA or teaming with Chris Paul to make their own team. Nothing was done that would prevent any future player to do a "Carmelo" and basically hold their team hostage for a trade while the season is in full swing.Nothing was done for Timberwolves, Kings, Bucks, and Bobcats fans to make them feel like their team as a decent chance of winning a championship someday. Using the NFL as an example, parity can only grow the league. Teams like the Saints, Cardinals, and even Carolina have all had "magic" seasons recently. Yet the NBA is the best sports example of "have and have-not's". You can't put the blame on the city because after all, who wants to live in Green Bay?
This agreement that was reached finally between the NBA and NBAPA could have been done well before the October. Based on the outcome of months of deliberation and missing games, one would expect wholesale changes to the "system" as Billy Hunter states. Everything stayed the same in most respects. A little tweak here and there should not have caused NBA fans to miss basketball for two months.

Verlander should not be AL MVP
Nobody can discount the season that Verlander had this past baseball season, but the pitchers have an award. Its called the Cy Young! Which he has won! Verlander has been awarded for that season by winning the Cy Young. Great defensive players get Gold Gloves and pitchers get Cy Youngs. It is really that simple. This means more MVPs may go to starting pitchers. The bigger question is "who should have won it".

Attorney in PA states his client will testify against Jerry Sandusky
The Associate Press is reporting that attorney Ben Andreozzi of Harrisburg, PA has a client that will testify to the allegations of sexual abuse against Jerry Sandusky. He commented that the recent interview with Bob Costas has further victimized those that were assaulted by Sandusky. He also expects more people to step forward to testify.
Tim Tebow or Mark Sanchez? Give me Tebow...

Before you start writing your, "Are you crazy?" comments, hear me out. Tebow plays within himself. He knows what he can do as a quarterback. Sanchez has always tried to do too much, usually costing the Jets a shot in the Super Bowl. Call it play calling or coaching if you want, but just watch the game. Tebow is a leader. Tebow is a winner. I would rather start a team right now with Tim Tebow over Mark Sanchez. (Period)You may now leave your "crazy" comments below
Great Read: A pox on both the NBA's labor houses! by Michael Wilbon
You'll have to go someplace else for a point-by-point analysis of the players' union's rejection of the NBA's most recent offer; of the difference between disclaiming, which the players' association announced it is doing, and decertifying. I'm not saying the points and all their nuances aren't important; I'm saying that like most people, I'm tired of the debate, tired of what seems like whining over billions of dollars at a time when so many Americans are searching frantically for a second job just to pay the rent.
I'm tired of the hearing...
